Orphanage Relief

FRUA New England currently has two projects underway. If you are interested in coordinating a fundraising effort for the Waiting Children with your place of worship, school or community organization, please contact Adele Raade. We will be happy to assist in any efforts to raise donations of cash or goods for the kids and are always willing to pitch in.

Fundraiser for Cough and Cold Remedies
Our goal is to ship large quantities of cough and cold remedies and fever reducers to the FRUA National Grow Bag program. If you have not yet sent a check, please consider doing so. All amounts are welcome. Checks should be made out to FRUA and mailed to: FRUA, c/o Roslyn Michelson, 5 Eugene Dr., Winchester MA 01890.

The Remember the Waiting Children card program
If you are looking for a unique way to commemorate a birthday, adoption anniversary, back to school or first day of school, for a small donation Remember the Waiting Children Program will send your honoree a special card depicting the beautiful artwork of children currently in Russian orphanages. We'll even publish your honoree's commemoration and picture in a future newsletter. These special cards have brought in generous donations and we have sent cards in honor of a variety of special occasions. Send your name, address, telephone number, event to be commemorated plus the name and address of your honoree and a minimum donation of $10.00 to Roslyn Michelson, 5 Eugene Dr., Winchester MA 01890.

FRUA New England was the recipient of donations from New England's largest adoption conference. On Saturday, April 28 2001, FRUA NE gratefully received sneakers and boots, socks, cough and cold medicine, hydrocortisone cream, chewable vitamins, thermometers, lice treatment, diaper rash cream, bandages, antibacterial soaps and lotions and much, much more. The donations were sorted, boxed and forwarded to Shoes for Orphans Souls and FRUA National's Grow Bag Program for distribution throughout Russia and Eastern Europe.

Fundraiser for Hepatitis A Vaccinations
We were proud to have contributed $400 to a program that has been set up to facilitate the vaccination of infants and children against Hepatitis A. The focus of this project is in the orphanages of Southern Siberia. We were made aware of a need by 385 children and were happy to offer our assistance. We have also received a $400 match of these funds from FRUA National to add to the effort.
